The kids are currently obsessed with leprechauns. I really don't know why, but they were running around last night claiming that they saw a leprechaun in the house. The reason? They were playing MouseTrap and found one of the mice in a wind up clock.... Jeff says that he grilled them to see who was lying but no one broke. And then, when they were going to bed, I had this conversation with Emily:
E: Mommy, Bella told me a story that her teacher told her about a leprechaun that was hit by a car and became a zombie leprechaun. Now I'm scared.
Me: I highly doubt that.
E: No, really, she did.
Me: There is no such thing as a leprechaun. And if there was, there certainly aren't any zombie leprechauns.
So I giggled, told Jeff about it, and went to bed. This morning as Jeff was getting ready to leave, we had this conversation:
J: Did you put the kids clothes on the couch all freaky?
Me: What? No, that was Miles (they picked out their clothes last night for Spring Picture Day)
J: They're really freaking me out with this leprechaun thing. Did you hear about the mouse in the clock?
J: It's really not funny..... I can't get zombie leprechauns out of my head now.
In other, non-little-green-men related issues, I finally got motivated to finish my Que Sera cardigan that I've been working on FOREVER (ok, not forever, Ravelry says since Oct 26). I didn't mind the lacy stitch pattern, but the shaping really eluded me. And then the sleeves. I couldn't figure out why no one else had sleeve issues. It turned out I was over-thinking the sleeves and once I just followed the directions it wasn't too bad. I'm halfway done with the second sleeve, and then it's onto blocking and seaming. Wish me luck!
